Referral Procedure: Employment counselors, social workers and community organizations may send referrals or individuals may self-refer. Students are interviewed and assessed with both formal and informal assessments. Following the assessments and interview, it is determined whether the program meets the students' needs, and if so, individuals are then notified when seats become available.
Services Offered:
- Nova Scotia Department of Education Adult Learning Program, Levels 2 and 3
- Personal and academic counselling
- Learning strategies and study skills coaching/training
- Advocacy-liaison and coaching
- Full-time 5-6 month program with classes in the morning and afternoon
- Students receive individual one-on-one attention, tailored to their specific needs and skill levels.

- One to one tutoring service is provided by volunteer tutors, usually twice per week

- There is an opportunity to learn about computers and to participate in a small group session
- Programs operate from September to June
- Resources and materials are provided to learners when available

The Nova Scotia School for Adult Learning is an administrative body within the Adult Education Division of the Department of Education. It supports the delivery of adult education programs from basic literacy to high school completion by providing funding to:
- Community-based Organizations
- Regional Schools Boards
- Nova Scotia Community College
- Collège de l'Acadie.
These programs, in partnership with the Department of Education, provide adult learners access and support to a continuum of adult education programs, allowing adults to improve their literacy skills and/or earn credits toward the new Nova Scotia High School Graduation Diploma for Adults.

Note: For adult students without financial support, basic tuition, assessment and boarding (summer only) costs are covered by a grant from the National Literacy Secretariat
Referral Procedure:
- Contact Landmark to obtain application and assessment form.
- Students interviewed on a first come-first served basis.
- Following the interview the Admissions & Assessment Committee determines whether the Program is appropriate for that student.
- Students are notified of Committee's decision.
- A community advocate is strongly recommended to assist the adult student before and following the Program.
Services Offered:
- The Program is designed to assist adults with suspected learning disabilities in the areas of reading, writing, math, study skills, vocational guidance and computer literacy. Included in the Program are psycho-educational and occupational assessments and an explanation of students' programming needs. Following the Program of educational and vocational remediation, a summary evaluation with suggestions for further community follow-up activities is examined with the student.
