Metro Centre to Host Golf Tournament In Support Of Learning Disabilities
The Halifax Metro Centre will host its annual Play with the Stars golf tournament at the Granite Springs Golf Club on Mon, June 9, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. The annual tournament is in support of the Learning Disabilities Association of Nova Scotia (LDANS).
This tournament is one of its kind. It pairs teams of five golfers with local celebrities from the worlds of sports, entertainment and media.
“The Play with the Stars golf tournament is an annual event that is near and dear to the hearts of all Metro Centre staff. This tournament would not be possible without the tremendous support we have received from our sponsors, celebrities and teams” says Scott Ferguson, Executive Vice-President of Trade Centre Limited.
Through their generous support and enormous fundraising efforts, The Halifax Metro Centre has helped to raise close to $330,000 through the past ten years of Play with the Stars!
“We’re glad to continue our partnership with The Learning Disabilities Association of Nova Scotia. All monies raised from this tournament go directly to supporting their programs and services, most notably the LINKS Children’s Literacy Program, which continues to be a valuable resource in our community” says Ferguson.
The Learning Disabilities Association of Nova Scotia is a charitable not for profit association, dedicated to providing leadership in learning disabilities education, programs, research and advocacy to advance the full participation of children, youth and adults with learning disabilities in Nova Scotia.
