The 17th National Conference on Learning Disabilities is shaping up to be one of the most exciting ever. We anticipate that some 450 delegates will meet in this pristinely beautiful part of our world to listen, learn and share. The host organization for this conference, LDAY, has engaged some 30 speakers from across Canada, the United States, England and Australia to join us in Whitehorse in September 2009.
Together we will address current issues facing the world of LD with emphasis on four major themes: Effective Instruction, Advocacy, Research & Technology, and Community Partnerships.
Barbara Wilson, Richard Lavoie, Dr. Gabor Mate, Dr. Martin Brokenleg, Ben Polis, Dr. Fraser Mustard and Dr. Geoff Bateson are a few of the presenters you will meet and hear on your journey through the conference. In addition to these many opportunities to learn and share, you will find yourself captivated by some of the most spectacular scenery, pristine wilderness and friendly, friendly people.
