About Art to Boot

Blundstone: Art to Boot is a unique fundraising event. Blundstone Footwear will donate 16 pairs of their iconic boots to be re-shaped, re-formed, and re-designed by a Nova Scotian artist, musician, or media personality. These works of art are auctioned off, proceeds to benefit the Learning Disabilities Association of Nova Scotia (LDANS).

When is the Event?

The live auction will take place on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at FRED Salon Café and Gallery at 2606 Agricola St. in Halifax.

The boots will be displayed at FRED from September 17, 2009 until the night of the live auction. So, make sure to stop by and preview these unique creations!

How much to Attend?

$10 – includes hors d’ouerves.

Plus whatever amount you’d like to spend in the live auction!

What’s the History Behind the Event?

Blundstone: Art to Boot originated as “Boot It Up” in Toronto, by an organization called Sketch. In February, LDANS adapted the event to suit a Maritime audience and saw great success in its inaugural year. The event has since been re-branded as Art to Boot and moved to October to coincide with Sketch’s event in Toronto and Learning Disabilities Awareness Month.
